Terms and Conditions

By booking tickets or visiting Turbary House Leisure Park, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone in your group.
1. About these terms
These terms cover all bookings and visits, including The Great Christmas Rescue at Turbary Woods, visits to Father Christmas, the Christmas Village and our year-round activities.
The park is run by THLP Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales under number 15519638, at Chain House Lane, Whitestake, Preston, PR4 4LB. You can contact us at hello@thlp.uk or on 07921 193 063.
Some events may have extra conditions shown at the time of booking. If they differ from these terms, the event conditions apply.
2. Booking and payment
- All Christmas events must be booked in advance for a set date and time slot. Tickets are only valid for the date and time booked.
- Full payment is taken at the time of booking. Your booking is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email.
- Everyone in your group needs a ticket, including adults. Children under 2 go free but must still be included in the booking.
- Prices are shown at the time of booking and include VAT. There is no additional booking fee.
- Upgrades such as owl experiences are not included in standard tickets and must be booked and paid for separately.
- Please check your confirmation carefully and tell us about any mistakes within 48 hours.
3. Cancellations, changes and refunds
Because tickets are for a specific date and time, the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations does not apply.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| You want to change your date or time | Free of charge up to 48 hours before your visit, subject to availability. One change per booking. |
| You cancel 48 or more hours before your visit | Refund or transfer free of charge. |
| You cancel less than 48 hours before your visit | No refund, but you may move to another date if available, subject to a 50% transfer fee. |
| You do not turn up, or arrive more than 30 minutes late | No refund or transfer. |
| We cancel or cannot run the event | Full refund, or a free move to another date if you prefer. |
The Christmas events run outdoors in woodland and go ahead in most weather. If we decide it is unsafe to open, for example because of high winds, snow or flooding, we will contact you by email or text and offer a new date or a full refund.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
4. Children and Father Christmas visits
- Children under 16 must be with a responsible adult aged 18 or over at all times. Adults are responsible for the children in their group throughout the visit.
- Each booking includes one shared family visit to Father Christmas. Visits are timed, so please be available at the time given.
- Each child aged 2 to 15 with a paid ticket receives a present. Presents are chosen by age and may vary, and cannot be swapped or exchanged for cash.
- Children under 2 go free but do not receive a present.
- You are welcome to take your own photos and videos during your Father Christmas visit, as long as they are of your own group.
5. On the day
- Please arrive 30 minutes before your time slot. If you are late, we will try to fit you in, but we cannot guarantee it.
- Christmas Village admission is included with Christmas Adventure and Father Christmas tickets. Food, drink, fairground rides and market stalls are paid for separately.
- The Village closes at 9pm on event days.
- Our woodland trails have uneven ground, mud and roots. Wear sturdy footwear and warm, waterproof clothing.
- If anyone in your group has accessibility needs, please contact us before your visit so we can help. Assistance dogs are welcome; other dogs are not allowed at Christmas events.
- Our owls and birds of prey are live animals. Please follow the handler’s instructions at all times and do not touch the birds unless invited.
- Please tell us about allergies when buying food on site. Our kitchens handle common allergens and we cannot guarantee any item is allergen free.
6. Activity safety
- For activities such as axe throwing, archery, laser clay shooting, gel blasters and Crazi Bugs, every participant must follow the safety briefing and instructors’ directions.
- Participants, or a parent or guardian for under 18s, must sign a participation form before taking part.
- Anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to take part, and no refund will be given.
7. Behaviour, entry and photography
- We expect all visitors to treat staff, performers, animals and other guests with respect. We may ask anyone behaving in a way that is unsafe, abusive or disruptive to leave without a refund.
- Smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on site, and you may not bring your own alcohol.
- We may take photos and video at events for our website and social media. We will not publish a photo in which a child can be identified without a parent’s or guardian’s permission. If you do not want to be photographed, please tell a member of staff.
- CCTV operates on site for safety and security. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
8. Liability, complaints and the law
- We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- Otherwise, our liability to you for any booking is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen.
- You visit at your own risk where the risk comes from ignoring safety instructions, staff directions or signs.
- We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings, unless caused by our negligence. Lost property is held for 30 days.
- We may make reasonable changes to an event, such as the running order or characters appearing, without notice. If a change significantly affects your visit, we will offer a new date or a refund.
- If something is not right, please tell a member of staff on the day so we can try to fix it. Otherwise, email hello@thlp.uk within 14 days of your visit and we will reply within 10 working days.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
