Turbary House Nursery is a family business that continually strives to innovate and has always followed its passions. Owned and run by the Kenworthy family for over 50 years, John and Pat started out with a plan to develop a Garden Centre and Nursery. Now, with the second generation on board, we’re getting ready to take Turbary House Nursery to the next level.

We’re family-focused, and our goal is to bring people together with a range of leisure and recreation activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Growing success is in our roots

John and Pat’s plan to develop a Garden Centre soon turned into a thriving business. As the business continued to grow they took the decision to focus on the Nursery, growing bedding plants to sell to wholesale and sold the Garden Centre in the 90’s.

Both Richard, followed by Paul, John and Pat’s sons, joined the Nursery business. And with them came new ideas.

Getting ready for the next generation

By 2017, the Kenworthy family was ready to take their business in a new direction. We closed the Nursery and started to turn our focus to leisure activities, looking at how we could bring people and families together. How we could make best use of the land. Inspired and enthused by the popularity of both Turbary House Course Fishery & Turbary Woods Owl & Birds of Prey Sanctuary, we started working on our next generation plans.

Introducing Turbary House Leisure Park

We’re embarking on our biggest, most exciting challenge to date. Years of planning will see the introduction of new leisure activities that aim to bring people and families together, enjoying the outdoors, getting involved, and spending time together.
